Shoes Update...

My friend Laura saw my post on the yellow shoes I wanted, sent me a link for some look-a-likes, and now I have them! And I didn't even have to spend $250...more like $25. One day when you become a bigwig like me, maybe you too can have your own personal shopper.

Katherine's wedding!

I realize I wasn't the one getting married...but it sure felt like it! Katherine sometimes would look at me and say "you do realize all these people are coming in for me and not you, right?". Yep, I really did forget it wasn't about me. But leave it to the bridezilla to remind me.

The absolute greatest part, for me, was having all my best friends there. None of us live close to one another and since everyone is married with kids, it usually takes a wedding for us all to get together. Oh but when we get together...pure greatness! Somehow they can ask me one question and within seconds I'm in tears as I'm talking of my biggest insecurity and struggles. Then 5 minutes later we are laughing hysterically at something one of us did in school. Each one of them has played such a strong part in who I am today. Each of them I could go to with a problem and know that I'm getting sound Godly advice. I know that each one is FOR me, always cheering for my team. They think the best about me, even when I haven't deserved it. They know all the yucky parts that make up me and yet they love me so. I don't get it. But for whatever reason, I sure lucked out. Katherine, Tami, Bethany, Mary, Laura...I LOVE YOU.

Happy Thursday - with Jono!

Ok, a couple things you need to know before you watch this. 1) it's incredibly long. But look, it's me and Jono...both who are long-winded...and Hosanna wasn't here to cut us off mid-stream. 2) I think there is a revival of the mullet going on here. When you get a side shot of me, take a look at the hair action. It's pretty fantastic looking.

Yellow Heels - my heart be still.

This might shock some people...but those that have seen my closet know something about me...I love shoes. High-heeled shoes. I've tried to wear flats but unless their sneakers, I'm not having it. I even have some low heel shoes but they're just not as comfortable as my high ones. I can't explain it.

This last year I have been on the hunt for the perfect yellow heel. I want them to be the perfect height so I can wear them with jeans to work or with an outfit to church. And I want the right shade of yellow too. I don't want mustard or pale yellow. OH NO! They must be bright yellow. (Tami, this whole talk of yellow reminds me of our car ride to NC when Carl W. talked about why yellow was his favorite color...do you remember that?)

I said all that to say this...I finally found the perfect yellow shoe! I'm so excited. One problem. They are Dolce & Gabbana $490. BUT they are on sale for $250. I'd have to say that is the Lord, right? He's giving me a bargain! Oh dear, I need help over here.
