Ok, I promise I really don't want these stories. Things just happen to me. Or...I happen to me. In this case, I really am my own worst enemy.
Last Tues, 22nd, I woke up sick. I went to work but then came home around noon to lay down. Except I was very rarely laying down since I spent most of my time in the bathroom (too much info, I know). Around 2p I felt myself getting real dizzy and weak and I yelled for Debbie. I then tried to make my way to the bed. But on the way, I passed out, fell and hit my face on the nightstand. Poor Deb came into the room and had quite a sight in front of her. I'm so thankful that my sister now lives with me!
She got me dressed and had me on my way to the hospital before I knew what was happening. When I got to the ER, everyone acted so quickly. My cloudy memories were that I was incredibly cold, weak & hungry. To make a long story short, I really tore up the left side of my face. There was a hole at the top of my nose that went down to the bone. I cut my face from the top right of my nose to the bottom left of my eye. Tore my cheek, under my nose, inside & under my mouth, and on my chin. Because I tore my eyelid in half, they had to get a plastic surgeon to come in and repair it. So they put me under & the surgeon worked his magic. Now make no mistake, I begged him to give me a new nose while he was at it. But he just wasn't in the Christmas mood.
It's now Sun night and I feel great. This pic was taken on Thurs, so I actually had looked much worse than this...but thankfully, I now look much better. I've been able to open my eye for the first time this evening. It's still swollen and yellow but let me tell you...it looks fantasic comparatively.
So next time you are sick, let this face be a reminder to you to drink lots of water.

I am so sorry Leslie! It does make an interesting story though HA! It doesn't sound like you would have kept water down anyway, huh? Thank you for sharing! Love you!!!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness! Glad you are doing better...I would laugh, but it looks like it hurt. My rule is that is ok to laugh at people falling down as long as they dont get hurt. Hope you are better soon!
ReplyDeleteWould coming over to play cards help ease the pain? You are welcome anytime :)
